Upon awakening, it dawned on me that I had been spirited away into the realm of my adored novel. To my bewilderment, I found myself embodying the ignominious Aunt Judith, the ill-starred character who met a woeful demise, rather than the protagonist, Luca Winterwald. Even though I had the power to tamper with the plot, I resolved to adhere to its conventions and ensure Luca’s welfare by reuniting him with his estranged uncle, in a bid to avert any peril.
Regrettably, Luca had other intentions and implored me to stay by his side. Now, the onus was on me to safeguard him from the impending familial crisis and accord him the necessary guidance to enable him to assume the role of the hero, thusly upending the dark destiny that awaited a pernicious character.
